Took the thrift-store Canon out after dinner to see what it actually does when there’s still a little light left. It does not handle highlights gracefully. It does not understand shadows. Anything moving becomes a suggestion. So naturally I like it. Walked around for maybe an hour and ended up with a wet parking lot, an old sign behind a closed furniture place, some weeds eating a forgotten stretch of rail, and the back side of a grocery store that somehow looked better than the front. None of this is important. That might be why I keep taking pictures of it.
